No updates over the weekend because I've just been too busy. I added up the hours I've worked in the last week and it is literally over 70 hours. Now, I know most of you are like "I do that like every week", but I don't. I'm very fragile and I don't like to work that hard.

Good news is, camp went off without a hitch.

ahh, the glamorus life of bottle washing. Little did I know that is much of the camp manager's responsibilities.

Sweet view of the Garden of the Gods... too bad I wasn't there to see it. I got to stay inside all day while folks were out riding their bikes, well I did get out after camp before dark for some hot laps in the GOG. Although short, it was a good, hard workout. (that's what she said).

Of course, we had to celebrate once camp was over. Actually it was just Abby's birthday. Happy Birthday Abby!

Let the camp begin. Today was the first day of camp, and since this is only a short weekend camp, it'll almost be over tomorrow.

Since I don't actually have a desk in the office, I parked myself over by the marketing folks today. Sarah works in member services and sometimes answering hundreds of athlete emails every day makes her climb the walls.

Good thing she's so fast at her job. I think it's the skinsuit.

Time to make the bottles. Camp starts tomorrow.

It's the first big camp since I've taken over as camp manager and I feel like I'm juggling a lot right now.

But everything is going to be A-Ok. I just might lose a little sleep and not have time to ride my bike all week.

Do you ever feel like you're being watched?

I'm going to keep blogging that joke until it isn't funny anymore... oh wait, did that already happen?

3, 2, 1... Roller Races. Well mother nature put a cramp in day one at the track. I'm helping Clay with the Front Rangers junior track program and today was our first official day. Seeing as how we were in the middle of a near white-out blizzard, we opted for a roller workout in the Fred Cappy room at the Velodrome.

It was actually pretty fun to see some of the kids try the rollers for the very first time. "Deer in headlights" comes to mind for a few of them. Some opted for the safety of the trainer...

Looking good Buddy, says coach Clay.

Despite the weather, the first day of the junior track program went A-OK.

Please note the smudges on the white beanie cap from all the mechanic work we had to to at the start of the session tonight.

I've been lazy lately and driving whenever I need to go to the office. It's only 2 miles, so I feel guilty about it, but there hasn't been much nice weather lately so it's seemed like as good excuse as any to drive. Since yesterday was Earth Day, I finally busted out the townie bike to ride to the office today.

This is what greeted me on the way home. Phew, I made it just before the hail, but now that it's spring and the season of afternoon thunderstorms I'm rethinking the whole townie bike transportation after just one day.

Fashion Don'ts.

Don't wear white shorts unless your name is Paolo Bettini or Mario Cippolini.

Don't dress your dog like it's a barbie doll.

Don't go on the podium with chocolate brownie stuck to your teeth.

Luckily SyRae wiped the brownie off her teeth before this psuedo podim shot. We had to create it ourselves with this random Front Rangers lady because 3rd place was already gone.

So today was a good day for the team. SyRae won after a beautiful leadout from Beth and I on the last lap. It couldn't have gone better. Well I guess it could have if we had swept the podium... Beth and both sat up after our leadouts. I think I finished last.

Too busy to blog.

When the flags stick straight out like that it usually means it's pretty windy. Good thing I had a tall, lanky Kiwi to keep me company on my ride today. Unfortunately a 3 hour ride in the wind today was the most exciting thing I did.

I bought a new desk this weekend. I'd say this nearly looks like an office now. Which reminds me, I should be working instead of wasting time blogging.

Today was a good day.

Yesterday was a good day for Katie Compton because she won the short track race at Sea Otter. The only thing I don't get is the headlines of cyclingnews. "Compton surprises women's field with win".

After crushing the field for 3 straight years at cross nationals, nearly going undefeated this entire cross season, not to mention a second place at Worlds.... who, exactly, was surprised by this outcome?

What was a surprise was Stuey O'Grady winning Paris Roubaix. He's one of my favorites. He definitely had a good day today too.

My good day was just me feeling back to normal for the first time in 10 days. I felt fine this morning, felt totally fine on my ride, and maybe even pretty good on the ride, and completely fine after the ride. It's amazing how feeling healthy again can put me in such a good mood, or maybe I didn't realize what a bad mood I've been in since I've been sick.

I don't know, today was a good day.

So I went down to watch some of the Colorado Crit this afternoon. Here Clay is locking out the gears for this junior racer. This year I'm helping Clay with the junior track program for the Front Rangers. It'll be a lot of fun.

What wasn't fun was me watching (and not racing) the ONLY race in downtown Colorado Springs all year. I think even from my weakened state from being sick I would have done just fine in this field. There wasn't a big turn out today because everyone was racing in Boulder.

The only bonus of today was I took my new bike out for it's first ride.

Yes Clay, you are #1.

But why does Clay have this book on the shelf in his kitchen? and why does that guy have his shirt off?

I agree Liam, "pbthhhh" to all this flippin' snow.

Thursday, April 12, 2007

Curse you, winter! Just go away.

It started snowing again today. When will this winter end????

Wednesday, April 11, 2007

Since the only things that are certain in life are death and taxes it's only fitting that I felt like death all weekend and now I to have to do my taxes today. And yes, I did wait until the last minute... well not technically because I think the last minute is 11:59pm on Monday.

Tuesday, April 10, 2007

So this is what it looked like outside all weekend so I had good reason not to leave the house, I mean a good reason besides being sick.

When I finally went outside yesterday, it looked like this...kind of like my bedroom with tissue strewn all about from constantly blowing my nose.

Saturday, April 07, 2007

I guess the bonus about being sick this weekend is that the race was canceled anyway because of the winter blast of weather we got. So, if I have to lay in bed all day and feel miserable at least it's not 70 and sunny out. I think we reached the high of 25 degrees today. Well, the cats are psyched I'm sick because I've been in bed all day and they've had a warm body to snuggle with.

Friday, April 06, 2007

I wish this picture would do the weather justice because this was the exact moment that rain started to turn to snow. In a sense snaining.... or maybe rowing.... whichever. Either way I've caught the most convenient cold and may not be racing this weekend anyway.

Since I didn't do anything funny or exciting today to blog about I'll blog about the Boulder-Roubaix course that I rode this week to preview for Saturday's race.

So Boulder-Roubaix is another damn dirt race. Last one for a while, phew. This year they're using the old course which could be the new old course or the old new course because I haven't raced it in a couple of years. So I'm not sure if this is the same course as they raced last year, but I know it's not the new course, which, of course is now the old course. So this is the old, old course that I first raced when I raced B-RB.

I like this part of the course, a lot! You know, I'd like it if all the roads were like this. Then we could call it Hugo Road Race and I'd have a chance to win it.

Here's where it gets hard. These don't look like big hills, but they're going to feel like big hills when the Canadian cross queen is trying to break my legs on them.

Watch out for that last turn, it's a doosie.

We rode part of the old, new course too which was getting graded the other day. They were grading the roads dangerously close the the race course too. So I really hope they don't before Saturday because that combined with the snow and rain in the forecast could make for an epic day.

Tuesday, April 03, 2007

So I went up to Boulder to race the Koppenpoop race on Sunday. Beth is smiling because she got 4th and that's real good in a tough race like this. Lisa did pretty well too as she loves the dirt, after all, she did used to be a pro mountain biker. This race seems to bring out all the pro mountain bikers and cross riders because it's mostly on dirt roads. To which I ask, if it's on DIRT, then why to we ride our ROAD bikes?

I tried to get Katie to take my place on the team for the race, but the bike was a wee bit small. So I had to do the race myself. Did I tell you I hate riding in the dirt?

Well good thing, because I get to do it again next week. Next week is Boulder Roubaix, it's a Colorado Classic. I'm actually looking forward to it, I mean except for the dirt part which is only about 2/3 of the race.

The best news from the weekend is that our new bikes are in. Check out the retro paint job. I think they look pretty cool. This isn't my bike, in case you can't tell . Imagine it about half that size and that's what mine will look like as soon as I get it built.

In case you didn't "click here" at the end of yesterday's post. It was an April fools joke.

At least I had a good reason for stinking it up at the race today. It's official, I'm pregnant. Click here.
