So Mom's been having a great time here in Colorado. She gets to do lots of stuff she doesn't do back in New Hampshire. You know, little house projects like cleaning out the air ducts for the heat vents, repotting plants, scrubbing the stains out of the tub, and all sorts of little minor repairs around the house. It's so nice to have Mom visit.

Guess who's here?

It's Mom!

Out at Helen Hunt falls. I can't believe she got the Oscar for that movie. It wasn't that good.

Later we went shopping for jeans. I was in the dressing room when Mom handed me a pair... "here try these on honey". They reminded me of something like this. click here It's probably not a good idea to let your mom pick out jeans for you. Needless to say, I did not buy those but went to find something a little more age appropriate at the Gap.

Then we met Melissa and Mini-me at the Keg for berry salads. Delish!

I was riding through the park on way home and was amazed at the number of kids in there in the middle of the day. It was like Lord of the Flies or something... Then I figured it out. It's 67 degrees, sunny, and spring break for the kids. It's a jungle (gym) out there.

Retro CD of the day: Sugarcubes, Life's too Good.
Look at that, nature. Coming down from Gold Camp saw at least 9 deer. Note: pic taken with the new blackberry. At some point in time I will figure out how to also post blog updates from said device.

I think I have a new favorite! Even better than Bettini and Bonnen, Cancellara does it in style. Click here to read more.

And the decision is... Blackberry. I have to say, this is probably the coolest thing I've ever owned. I had a Palm Treo a couple years ago and that thing sucked balls, so I had my doubts about another smart phone, but the Blackberry is the shiznit. Also, congratulations to Beth for being the first call on my new phone.

In other news I had my first nearly epic ride for the season. It started off cloudy and cool and ended with snow and wind. it was really only for the last 10 miles, so not that epic, but that's all I got because as a fatty master's rider I try not to ride in that crap anymore.

Do the test.
Someone just had a baby!

Oh, and Lisa had her baby too. Congrats Derek and Lisa and little Lucy too.

I've been watching a lot of Seinfeld lately.

It is my opinion that season 4 is the best. I mean really... The Contest, Bubble Boy, "not that there's anything wrong with that", the Smell. It's all classic.

Spamdate: 137 and counting for the day
Spam watch update:
107 now
I'm tired of Spam, and I don't mean little fried Spam sandwiches. It seems like I spend 20 minutes every day deleting spam out of my inbox. Today I'm tracking just how much spam comes in my email each day. I'm up to 88 spam emails already and that's just in the last 12 hours.

I stayed up in Boulder on Saturday and went for a little spin with Beth who is now very pregnant but still riding every day. ... Time to flip that stem, and make more room for the baby belly.

Also went on another ride with the twins. Why are these guys so happy all the time?

Later, I went down to Pearl St with Beth and did a little shopping, which makes me ask, what is the point of this skirt with all the holes in it? Hippies, I just don't get them.

Went out for a training ride with the twins today.

Dirty Carol post ride was a little wasted. She nearly bonked despite the many foods she had in her back pocket. Notice the bulge in her back pocket, that is the 3 Clif bars, 6 gels, and ham sandwich she had jammed in her pockets but decided not to eat because they were too hard to reach.

Fully recovered from the ride the twins are sporting their new post race Ts and "going out on the town" Rudy Sport Masks.

Ok, so 3:30 pm and it's like 47 and totally sunny. Welcome to CO in the spring!
Friday's forecast: High 53, mostly sunny. Chance of flurries in the morning.

Flurries my ass!

Just call me sneezy. It must be spring seeing as how I almost crashed myself on my bike today during a wicked sneezing fit.

Remember how I lost my cell phone the other week? (come on, I know you do because you check my blog everyday!) Anyway, turns out someone did find my phone and proceeded to use it to download about $65 dollars with of internet data in about 3 hours time. The poor loser that found my phone and decided to keep it didn't even have any friends to call... just data to download on the interweb, no calls to China or Mexico or even LA. I bet the guy has no friends.

Fortunately, since those charges occurred on the same day that I shut my phone off, my wireless service agreed to take charges off my bill. Way to go AT&T! I'd have to say I was more than happy with my customer service today.

Now the big decision is Blackberry or just a good old fashioned phone to replace the P.O.S. Nokia I'm using now.

Don't forget.

Friday, March 07, 2008

So I know I've mentioned many 80's movies classics on my blog before; however, tonight on the TV was one of the all time bests...

Wolverine!

Red Dawn, simply a classic.

I know I've mentioned before how Cocktail...

How it was my "first official date" movie. Well, Red Dawn was actually my first unoffical date movie with Jon Boutin in the 6th grade.

Ahh, good times.

Do you ever feel like you are being watched (by pets possessed by the devil)?

Wednesday, March 05, 2008

So last night I got to go to the Alanis Morissette concert thanks to Beth's totally awesome rock star friend Leah (Well, she's not actually a rock star, but she works for one). It was a good show and rather fun people watching. I think the two middle-aged Alanis groopies sitting next to have been waiting since 1997 for Alanis' big comeback. They had the lighters out for every song. There were also a surprising amount of well groomed men pumping their fists to songs like "You Oughta Know." Many of those guys did not even stay for Matchbox 20.

Welcome home... two weeks of mail piled under the door, which looks remarkably similar to the e-mail piled up in my inbox on my computer.

Sunday, March 02, 2008

Last day in Buellton.

Buh-bye California, we had a great time.

Gee I hope my they don't forget my bike on top of that luggage cart.

We were all a little tired after the two crazy weeks at camp. I caught Cookie taking a nap on the flight back.

On Friday Handsome Rob from Saris came to join us on our ride.

Climbing Figueroa was like riding through pea soup the fog was so thick at the bottom. About 1/2 way up we climbed above the cloud, pretty cool.

View from the top of Figueroa.

Riding back from the big climb

As always Jose took good care of us in the support car.
