So, as you know, I was in beautiful Beaver Creek over the weekend. The leaves were at peak and it was also time for some peak training.

Beth is busy getting herself back in to peak form as she in on the Vistion Quest for 2009.

To get everyone inspired for our training montage (pictures only, sorry no video), here is something to truly inspire you (because our weekend was pretty much like this.)

Which way should we run next?

So, I'm hanging out in Beaver Creek this weekend with Beth and Jon.

We've done a little hiking.

and a little hanging out with Sam. He's grown so much in the last month, he's like twice as old as the last time I saw him.

More updates later.

Beautiful, wish you were here.

Details to follow.

Thursday night was date night with Stephanie....no, not that kind of date. It was the kind of date where Mike was out of town, and Steph and I hadn't hung out in a long time so we went out for Poor Dick's, a beer, and capped the night off with Josh-n-John's and a little bit of the Office.

Dear Swill,
Thanks for the flowers. I totally appreciate the gesture and forgive you (mostly).

This week whilst trying to watch the latest episode of Weeds online, I somehow contracted a computer virus.

Remember, only download from trusted sources!

It's all better now thanks to Nicole Brown superstar, the IT guru for CTS. She's the only IT person I know who does not roll their eyes at me when I come to them asking dumb questions about my computer.

Yesterday, after my yerba mate, I put on my Patagonia yoga pants and did a little yoga outside in the grass with the cats. It was later when I was eating my dinner of organic greens and hormone free turkey burger that I thought no wonder everyone asks me when I'm moving to Boulder. It's as if I am earning my Boulder hippie merit badges now. My only saving grace was that I was listening to some weird mix of Soundgarden, Metallica, and Timbaland on my ipod while doing yoga. I'm pretty sure that's not very Boulder correct.

Lost and Found.
In case you lost your boots, they are on my front steps. I found these boots on my front steps this morning, very odd. Is there some guy running around Colorado Springs without any shoes on?

Katie and Mark got married today... for the second time because in case you didn't know, they secretly got married in New Zealand over the winter.
Here's James giving the couple the official thumbs up. That's right, James Herrera has the authority to marry people and the online certificate to prove it too.

Music provided by Musick.

Good food, good friends, open bar. A fine time was had by all.

Like any good cyclist. Katie sported the flip-flops for the wedding. Note the random dudes shuving their hands in the picture... thanks Doug and Greg.

I have finally found someone I am taller than... Katie's Mom. I was so happy she was my favorite person to stand next to all night!

All smiles. Ericka, Katie, and Me.

I realize that y'all are busy people, but if you have time please watch this video of Sarah singing at Katie's wedding. Truly, Sarah Musick is a talent and you can only hope she composes a song for you on your special day.

Key to the song
Katie Compton - K.F.C. (the F can stand for whatever the F you want it to)
Mark Legg, now known as Mark Compton, the Colonel, or the Kiwi, or the Original Recipie
Kellie Emmett - as herself

More to follow on the wedding... only if you click on the video link above.

p.s. once Sarah releases her multi-platinum album you can say you heard it here first!

Collegiate Nationals are here in town this week and I went out to help Kate out with her pursuit this morning.Saftey first. Kate likes to be aero when she warms up as Melissa looks on. Apparently Melissa is grumpy because she has not yet had enough coffee.

Last minute instructions from coach Katie.

Kate ready to start her pursuit for the first time. I say first time because she got a practice start in with a false start. All was good on the second official start. Kate's cheering section.

There has been a lot of talk of comebacks lately.

Of course, the biggest one of the summer was Brett Favre who unretired and went to the Jets.

The biggest news of recent is obviously Lance's annoucement about coming out of retirement.

We all know what Lance has been up to the past few years with playing around with Hollywood's single scene including dating one of the Olsen Twins, Kate Hudson, and of couse, who could ignore his bromance with Matthew McConaughey.

However, some should be able to say when enough is enough....
Like Keith Richards...
Rocky...

Senator John Mcain

Or as I like to refer to him, Senator Palpatine
Sometimes you guys gotta realize the sequel...

Just isn't as good as the original.

It's finally football season, and it couldn't have started any better.

Monday the Broncos crushed the Raiders 41-14 and the game was called on ESPN by Mike and Mike, my two favorite people in the morning.

As a special bonus to the start of the season pretty boy Tom Brady will no longer be joining us. Suck it Brady!

'Tis the season for weddings and bachelorette parties as we all congregated at Mary's house for Katie's bachelorette party yesterday.

The normally unflappable Katie Compton is slightly out of her element trading her cross bike for naughty unmentionables.

The evening concluded with a trip to the Golden Bee.
A fine time was had by all.

The traditional morning after ride.

Kate, as usual, all smiles going by the Garden.

Saturday, September 06, 2008

So I went out for a ride today. I decided since it was such a nice day and probably one of the last days to ride in shorts and short sleeves that I'd get out for a little roll through town.

It was so pretty today and the old/ new bike rides great. I really like Ed Jr. I think it's the best bike I've ever ridden.
So sad.

So pretty.
