At Melissa's last night, Katie showed the secret to why she's so fast. The hula hoop. "It's great for your abs."
Just kidding, but the truth is Melissa is a hula hoop pro. I think she sidelines as a hula hoop hippie in Manitou on the weekends.
Sarah picked it up pretty quick, but she did find out that she can only go one way, not the other.
Failed attempt at double dutch hula hoop.
Later Katie tries to give a visual representation of the size of various objects.
While I did the dishes.

So, I met someone at Anne's party the other night, and well... we've been inseparable ever since.
His name is Jesus. He's been with me everywhere.
It turns out he really loves cappuccinos.
And listening to music.
He even thinks Arrested Development is hilarious.
And who doesn't love a good sandwich?
We even went on a bike ride. In fact I introduced my friend Melissa to Jesus and she said that he was what powered her to the town line sprint win.
He thought Garden of the Gods was really pretty until I told him the Pagans used to worship there.
He even likes taking naps with the cats.
However, he doesn't really like Christmas or Santa Claus so much. I mean really, wouldn't you be pissed too if your birthday was on Christmas? I mean all those combo gifts and never getting your own birthday party.
When push came to shuv Jesus didn't really have a chance against the fat man.

Today was a good day.
First, I got my hair cut, and I wouldn't normally take pictures of how great my hair looks after Rick whips out his magical flat iron (ok, so I would and have...), but today's picture has a purpose. I am finally going to replace the pic from my coaching bio on the CTS site.
What was I thinking?!!?
Today is also a good day because I'm getting another new fridge. It's been since October since I've had a functioning fridge in the kitchen. There's been 3x with the repair man and this will be new fridge #2, let's hope this one is lucky.
And by far the best news of the day is that in 8 short weeks I'm headed to California for a couple of weeks to do CTS camps. Yes, I will be working, but it will be February, I will be in California, and I will be on my bike every day. It doesn't get much better than that.

Crisis averted.
So I go to boot up my computer last night and I get "Error Code 01401. No drive detected." Uh, oh, that sounds real bad...
So I am panic stricken that my hard drive has just blown up and of course, because I never back anything up, I have lost all of my data, not to mention I won't be able to work for a week.... That's what I thought until I go to the IT department this morning at CTS and as it turns out I just have a couple of screws loose. Well, the screws holding the hard drive in came loose and the hard drive just slipped out of place. Phew! Crisis averted, but I still have a couple of screws loose that I need to fix.

So yesterday was my birthday, and although not everything went as planned I still had a really nice time. You can read a lot more about it at Beth's blog.
Since the weather wasn't conducive to riding, the girls decided to do some good reading.
Then we still all went out to lunch and had some awesome cake thanks to Stephanie.
Beth, Syrae, and Jenna had to leave early to try to get home before the roads got too bad, but I think it was still a bad drive home for them.
And this is what it looks like from the house this morning. It's like a winter wonderland and the timing is good since it makes everything look all Christmassy. And now, since it's the day after my birthday, Christmas season can officially begin.

The CTS Christmas party was last night. It was a lot of fun.
The Pabst was free flowing... CTS spares no expense when it comes to parties.
I got to celebrate my birthday with Dean who also was born on December 8th.... separated at birth perhaps?
Partners in crime.
I don't know, but we better get out of here before things get too rowdy. Oops, too late.

So I've got blogger's block today, and since everyone is sick about hearing about my awesome birthday coming up, I figured I'd blog this.
So I leave my iTunes on shuffle all the time while I'm working, and today this gem came on.
Alright, go ahead and play it and tell me you don't feel compelled to pull out your lighter and hold it in the air. This one reminds me of junior high dances and my sister's permed, frosted hair. So good, I had to play it twice.

So there's apparently a new blog game of tagging people. So I got tagged by my good friend Beth which means that I must post 5 random things about myself that people probably don't know and then tag 5 more people.
1. When I was in kindergarten, at the end of the year, all the kids got awards. You know, best speller, best attendance, cleanest desk, ect. My award was for being the shortest. That really hurt my feelings and is the only thing I remember about kindergarten.
2. The lump you can see on my forehead I got in first grade when I crashed in to a swing while chasing a boy around the playground.
3. I rushed sororities the first few weeks of college as a freshman at the University of Florida. That didn't last long. I graduated from UNH and on the cycling team instead.
4. I played the drums all through junior high and high school. When I was a senior in high school, I sold my drum set and bought my first bike.
5. I hate going bare footed because I really hate it when my feet are dirty. If I've worn sandals all day, I need to wash my feet before I can either put shoes and socks on or get in to bed.
So now I will tag
Lisa: my sister
Chris: my brother-in-law and father of the two cutest kids in the world
Kate: my former travel buddy and fellow racer
Sarah: bike racer and someone who makes me laugh every time I see her
Brad: bike racer extraordinaire

My last night in Ashland, and even though my birthday is 10 days away, I got to open my presents.
Thanks for the new Red Sox hat and Green Monsta T-shirt. Go Sox.
Then we made cookies.
The girls intently watch the cookies as they bake.
And then Jordi turned in to a cookie monster.
And Caroline in to a cookie ghost.

The park next to my sister Lisa's house is like a Christmas wonderland. Seriously, they are in to Christmas around here.
We took a trolley ride through the festival of lights in the park and even though there is no snow, it still gets you in the Christmas mood.
We went to ballet class where Lisa demonstrates the proper application of Aqua-net hairspray to really make the ballet hair stay in place.
After ballet there was cake and candy at Emily Ford's birthday party. Notice the sugar coma look that the kids get.
Later the next day, the two were at it again eating a giant donut at Starbucks.
